Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how VibeCheck collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
- Device identifier: A randomly generated ID stored locally on your device to associate your data with your account, without requiring a sign-up.
- Display name: The name you optionally provide during onboarding.
- Images: Photos you submit for AI analysis. These are sent to our AI provider for processing and are not stored beyond the analysis session.
- Scan results: Your aesthetic scores, style feedback, and color season data are stored to power your history and personalization features.
- Closet items: Names, categories, and notes you add to your virtual closet.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI-powered style scoring and advice
- To personalize your experience based on your color season and history
- To manage your subscription status
3. Third-Party AI Processing
When you submit a photo for style analysis or send a message to the AI stylist, that content is transmitted to Anthropic, Inc. via their API for real-time processing.
- What is sent: Your photo (encoded image data) or text question, plus your color season profile if previously determined.
- Who receives it: Anthropic, Inc. — anthropic.com/privacy
- Retention by Anthropic: Not retained. Anthropic processes and discards API inputs and does not use them to train models without a separate opt-in agreement.
- Retention by VibeCheck: Scan scores, style tags, and AI-generated responses are stored in our database to power your history and personalization.
You are shown a clear disclosure and must provide explicit consent before your first scan or AI stylist interaction. You may withdraw consent at any time in Profile → AI Data Processing. Withdrawing consent disables scanning and the AI stylist until you re-consent.
4. Other Third-Party Services
- Apple: Handles all payments and subscription management via StoreKit. No financial data is processed by VibeCheck.
- Neon (PostgreSQL): Hosts your scan history and closet data in a secure cloud database with encryption at rest.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as you use the App. You can permanently delete all your data at any time using Profile → Reset & Restart. This immediately removes your device identifier, scan history, closet items, and AI responses from our servers.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Your device identifier and subscription status are stored in the iOS Secure Enclave via SecureStore.
